The Stadion an der alten Försterei (Stadium next to the Old Forester’s Lodge) is located on the southeastern edge of Berlin in the district of Köpenick. If you are coming from the centre of Berlin you should allow the best part of an hour (the scheduled time on the local public transport website, for example, for the journey from Friedrichstrasse in Mitte down to the stadium ranges from 37 to 53 minutes).
ARRIVAL BY PLANE
Berlin has two airports: Tegel Airport in the northwest of Berlin and Schönefeld Airport on the southern outskirts.
Arrival at Schönefeld Airport
Berlin Schönefeld Airport is located on the southern outskirts of Berlin. From the terminal building it is a ten-minute walk to the Schönefeld train station. From there S-Bahn trains as well as regional trains go directly to the center of Berlin. Schönefeld Airport has a link to highway A113 which leads to the city center.
Arrival at Tegel Airport

From all directions, highways and national roads lead to Berlin. They all cross the highway which encircles Berlin, known as the “Berliner Ring”. From there feeder roads, urban highways and exits guide drivers towards the center of Berlin.
Getting to Berlin from the North
Getting to Berlin from direction Stralsund, Greifswald
Berlin visitors coming from the northeast reach Berlin on highway (Autobahn) A20. They should stay on that road until the junction “Uckermark” and then follow the A11 towards Berlin. Afterwards, it is about 750 metres on the highway A10 until the exit 36 “Berlin- Weissensee”. From there they should continue their way on national road (Bundestraße) B2
towards Berlin. It leads through Malchow, Weissensee and Prenzlauer Berg to the center of Berlin.
Getting to Berlin from direction Hamburg, Kiel, Rostock
Drivers reaching Berlin from the northwest enter highway A24 east of Hamburg and continue until highway junction Wittstock/Dosse. They follow the A10 towards the center of Berlin.
Berlin visitors heading towards the exhibition grounds or Kurfürstendamm should leave the A24 at the junction Oranienburg and proceed on the A111 towards Berlin-Zentrum (Zoo). Leave the highway at exit 8 Eichborndamm and proceed the the direction Charlottenburg.
Getting to Berlin from the East
Getting to Berlin from direction Dresden, Chemnitz, Cottbus
Motorists driving to Berlin from the southeast should use either highway A13 or A113 in the direction of Berlin. Both lead to Berlin’s urban Highway A100. At exit 20, Tempelhofer Damm, follow the B96 towards Kreuzberg. Visitors to the Berlin trade fair should continue their journey on the A100 towards Berlin-Charlottenburg.
Getting to Berlin from direction Frankfurt/Oder
Visitors to Berlin coming from the East can reach Berlin via the highways A12 and A10. At the Schönefeld junction (exit 11) they change onto the A113 towards “Berlin-Zentrum” and continue on the A100. At exit 20 Tempelhofer Damm the route follows the B96 towards Kreuzberg. Travellers who want to visit the exhibition grounds or Kurfürstendamm follow the A100 towards Berlin-Charlottenburg.
Getting to Berlin from direction South
Getting to Berlin from direction Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich
Berlin visitors coming from the south and southwest will reach Berlin on the highways A9/E51 and A10. At the highway junction Nuthetal (exit 16) they follow the A115 towards Berlin Zentrum, Berlin-Zehlendorf. Travellers who want to visit the exhibition grounds or Kurfürstendamm stay on the A115 until the motorway junction Funkturm and then change onto the A100 in the direction of Hamburg/Wedding.
Getting to Berlin from the West
Getting to Berlin from direction Dortmund, Bremen, Hanover
Drivers approaching Berlin from the West should use the highways A2/E30 and A10. At exit 19, Potsdam follow the signs leading to Berlin-Zentrum. The route continues on the A10 until
the highway junction Nuthetal. From there, the A115 leads towards the center of Berlin. Travellers who want to visit the exhibition grounds or Kurfürstendamm continue on the A115 until junction Funkturm and then change onto the A100 towards Hamburg/Wedding.
